The 2026 FIFA World Cup will kick off on June 12 at the iconic Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The opening match sees host nation Mexico take on its opponent, marking the start of the 39-day football carnival. Co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, the tournament features a historic expansion to 48 teams, who will play a total of 104 matches. The group stage comprises 12 groups. The top two teams from each group and the eight best third-placed teams will advance to the knockout rounds. Notably for Chinese fans, approximately 70% of the matches will kick off between 6:00 AM and 11:00 AM Beijing Time, bringing extremely convenient viewing hours. The final is scheduled for 3:00 AM Beijing Time on July 20 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA.
